Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice of the Convention on Biological Diversity. At the 10th SBSTTA meeting in February 2005 in Bangkok the Canadian government supported proposals to dismantle the de facto moratorium on Terminator. In the end, the de facto moratorium remained in place because of the interventions of other governments The SBSTTA10 discussed the AHTEG report on the impacts of GURTs for Indigenous peoples, smallholder farmers and local communities but did not reach agreement. The meeting reaffirmed Decision V/5, section III which creates the de facto moratorium but called for further research on GURTs.
